Yeah…so…I needed to fill that space and the big numbers worked. 🙂

The opposite page you’ll see the journal stamps revived and made their way into this scrapbook!

This simple 8×8 scrapbook page below could just as easily be adapted for any collage of photos.

I love how these cut down photos turned out and the action shots aren’t all bad. That font still isn’t right and I went looking all over for the perfect font for her name. It’s not gritty enough for the page and I wish even now that I had mounted them on white.

The contrast between the flourish and “soccer” is so perfect for women’s soccer, don’t you think? I liked using this rub-on here to lead your eye all the way through all the photos and the bracket frames Patti nicely.

Soccer Scrapbook Pages 8×8

A few years ago I started 8×8 scrapbooks for my sister-in-laws. They are not very easy to buy for and I thought that this would be a nice thoughtful gift that we could give. This year the soccer star Patti got these pages from me. I took a little trip to see a few games in Colorado and had a chance to catch these moments and try out the sports mode on my camera.

I like using big photos. Big photos can show the size and scope of something that you don’t get from a 4×6. Don’t get me wrong, I print a lot of those too, but I find that I am now printing a lot more 5×7, 8×10, and wallets. Notice that one whole page of this double layout is only photo. I wanted to set off the gloriousness of the location on it’s own. In this little 8×8 scrapbook it was easy to do.

My journaling on this page was a little more personal too. It was a special thing to get to watch Patti play and I didn’t want to put Place/Date again, so I thought about what I was feeling that day and what it meant to me personally. I tried to reflect on our relationship and note the things that made me feel close to her and made her special in my mind.

8×8 Albums

Yesterday’s post included some of the pages from an 8×8 album I did for my sister-in-law. I find myself doing more and more pages for friends than for myself lately!

You’ve probably noticed that I kept things very simple (I had to do like 50 pages for the holidays, okay?), but I tried to make them cool when possible.

For added, but subtle, effect I used the Cricut machine to cut the various Mickey ears (thank you Lindy-friend!). It is the Mickey font, but also includes all those great Mickey ears that Disney fans love.

Personally I think that the cricut is worth it just for those ears! And to prove it…here’s a few more pages with those great Mickey ears:

Here’s just a quick look at what I gave my sister-in-law for Christmas…she met up with us for our annual trip and these pages were the result:
