Altered Canvas - Pooh Bear 3

Who doesn’t love this sweet little cuddly bear?!

I decorated these three canvas panels to use as a Winnie the Pooh wall hanging…or altered art.

I plan to attach them together by a wide ribbon to hang on the wall.

These canvases required very little in the way of supplies. In fact, the canvases I found sitting in a drawer in my craft space already!

You’ll also need:

Sandylion Winnie the Pooh Embellishments

Sandylion Winnie the Pooh Paper

Martha Stewart Glue

Super Sticky Tape

Transparencies

Brown ink

MY TIPS:

Instead of painting the canvases I used strips cut from the background paper to collage a border because it was (a) less messy than paint and (b) certain the colors would match.

I inked the edges of the background paper so they didn’t get lost when I adhered them to the canvas.

I glued one edge of the strips to the canvas and then used a super sticky tape on the edges to give it a nicely wrapped look.

I printed my own transparencies with quotes I got from the web.

I used three different embellishment sheets, one for each panel, but didn’t try to do too much with them. They have good variety and I didn’t want to have to create scenes by rearranging the embellishment packs.

Altered Mailbox – Valentine’s Day

This altered mailbox is perfect for stuffing Valentine’s in, giving Valentine’s, giving cookies, using for a bridal shower, or wedding. I loved making it and it was just so much fun.

I’m happy to announce that it is also for sale in my shop — www.sugarbearcreations.etsy.com — if you would like to purchase or request a custom mailbox. Enjoy!

These boxes are great.  At 5×7 size these boxes can be covered using just a few pieces of paper.  Utilize pop dots when you create yours to give depth and dimension to your own altered mailbox!

I love stepping outside the scrapbook page – so to speak – and using photos in different ways. This photo block is one of a series that look great on a bookshelf or above the fireplace.

I like using spray adhesive for the background pieces and the xyron for the rest. I used white paint to make the paper look distressed.
